Din-Din...
At Chez Sabrina & Stephane we enjoyed a "Salade Greque" and a pizza covered in mozarella and mushrooms. SOooooo good, especially the wine--we walked of a little tipsy.
Chocolat A Day continues...
The desserts in Cannes are gorgeous, and today we found the most beautiful chocolate shop! We couldn't help ourselves, so we got lots of macarons to try and a mini chocolate cake...soooooo good. Our favorite macaron was the Nutella one!

All Bodies Are Bikini Bodies...
TAI: A large portion of my life is spent in a bikini (could that be why I have over 30 of them???) I wear one all day every Sunday. I cook in them, spend holidays in them -- I plan my birthday every year around a weekend at the Ritz with my girlfriends all relaxing around the pool. My vacations all seem to be to “beaches” around the world – bikini’s are simply a part of my life. One of my best girlfriends will never come to my birthday because she doesn’t want to wear a bikini. I say who cares??? Life is about "not being afraid to wear your bikini." Being on the beaches in France -- many topless and many nudes (though I’ve only been topless) – what you see is how comfortable the women are here with their bodies. There’s something to be said for just letting go and being happy inside the body we have. One of my close friends has always battled weight. But she is so fun to be with – so joyful and comfortable with herself. I have never heard her complain about a “fat butt” like me and most of my friends do. The past few years I have had two major surgeries and put on two sizes (seriously). I see my skin starting to sag in places and pockets "stuff I can't identify" taking hold of spots on my body. All I can do is make peace with it all and welcome each and every thing as part of life. So – I say here’s to life in a bikini – for every woman!!! "Sexy" and "feeling good about ourselves" are states of mind! Men like butts! HURRAY for men!!! What a great life!!! By the way -- I hear they have a great cellulite cream here...I'm off to get some!!!

Cannes Tourist Stuff!
Cannes is known for the Cannes Film Festival and there is evidence all around. We love exploring every little street. Today we found our way to the top of the city where the Cannes Castle is perched!
Dinner at the Carlton
Dinner at the Carlton...divine...Dinner at the Carlton was soooooo good! It was Marissa's fanciest dinner ever.
And for her dinner she opted for "The Walk Through the Garden" which included four amazing courses:
first caviar mousse, then white asparagus with mixed greens, for the main course--lightly fried John Dory over a bed of peas and onions and a side of green asparagus with a foam sauce (my first foam dish!), then for dessert they brought me the "cherry ending," which included cherry ice cream, vanilla ice cream, AND the BEST cherry tart i have ever had (even though we were both convinced every course was the "best thing I have ever had!!").
Tai had "The Menu" which included:
A caviar mousse starter, an appetizer of fish over sauteed veggies and mixed greens, then a main course of duck and brown baked nectarines (really the best thing we have ever had!!!), potato crips, and zucchini, then the "exotic mousse" dessert that had a passion fruit layer at the bottom covered in coconut which was covered in chocolate mousse then topped off with a layer of white chocolate mousse! Sooooo good.
All this was accompanied with the BEST rose wine "we have ever had."
Gotta say there is a theme to this trip...every meal we have is "the BEST meal we have ever had." And it is the truth, each meal gets better and better and each is unique in its own delicious way.

Did Someone Mention Food???
Seriously -- every meal we have had has been the most Divine...Amazing...How are we ever going to stay in bikini shape??? Lunch and sun at the L'Annex! Marissa picked it for the cute waiters! There were LOTS!!!
Thoughts from Marissa...
This trip has been the most amazing experience!!! And kind of unexpected--I knew the trip would be a blast, but I originally signed on for the beaches and a fun romp through Europe, instead other parts of the trip caught me a little off guard and have really turned out to be my favorite parts. For instance--the food here is incredible!!! I knew the food would be good, but it is out of this world!! Everything from the ingredients, to the presentation, to the dining experience and who you share it with is incredible. Only the freshest foods are used and every plate looks like a work of art, not to mention the meal lasts for about 4 hours, so you better like who you are having dinner with. People here appreciate the time and effort put into their food and center their lives around it. At first it was hard getting used to people closing their stores (meaning I had to stop shopping) so they could eat! AND there are no "to-go" cups anywhere; if you are eating, you are sitting--the whole concept of Starbucks is completely lost on this continent, but I guess they are managing.

Particles and Others Stuff
So at CERN they are studying particle physics. Zach is receiving his PhD this fall. Go Zach!!! He's been offered a job to stay at CERN for two more years -- guess he's kinda smart. What we learned is the simplicity of particles and how they are pretty much like people. No matter how much you think you figure them out -- they all have their own unique personality and do their own thing. Pretty simply if you ask two blondes. Great day. Great minds. THANK YOU ZACH!!!
